Seasoned young Tasmanian producer Cal Young, known to the world as KOWL, clearly likes the same kind of boogie and disco I like. When I heard his newest track, “You & Me”, I connected with it right away. This French house-inspired instrumental track is driven by a funky bassline and a series of arp punches so familiar, it sounds as if it fell out of a DJ’s record crate at the discotheque in 1978 only to be rediscovered & come back to life in 2017.
